Lake Forest School District named their employees of the year at a ceremony Monday evening. WT Chipman sixth grade teacher, Stephen West, was named the Lake Forest School Districtβs Teacher of the Year. According to WT Chipman Principal, Dr. Brandy Cooper, βMr. West is organized and pays great attention to detail. He uses assessments and data to guide his instruction. He is a positive voice in his professional learning community, as well as department meetings with his Social Studies teamβ. Mr. West has been a part of the Lake Forest community his entire life. He graduated from Lake Forest High School and he coaches Lake Forest swimming. Superintendent, Dr. Steven Lucas reports βMr. West epitomizes the Districtβs vision of being the model of excellence in educationβ.
Ms. Michelle Schoof, a paraprofessional from East Elementary School was named Education Support Professional of the Year. According to Lake Forest East Elementary Principal, Mrs. Nicole Kurz-McDowell, βMrs. Schoof is a staple in the school community and one who represents the core of what we all strive to be. Kindness, flexibility, dedication and a focus on childrenβ.
Lake Forest North Elementary School Counselor Dana Carey was named Behavioral Health Professional of the Year. Mrs. Carey has been a school counselor for 13 years and been a part of the Lake Forest family since 2016. Congratulations to these fine educators!
