There are new books at Lake Forest South’s school library, thanks to a USDA grant provided through Delaware Department of Agriculture to the Delaware Farm Bureau. Delaware Farm Bureau has provided a specially made barn-shaped “Book Barn” and a dozen or more books on specialty crops grown right here in Delaware, such as peas, green beans, spinach and zucchini. The Book Barn project was initiated by Delaware Farm Bureau’s Promotion and Education Committee three years ago. The USDA grant will expedite placement of Book Barns and factually correct books in every elementary school in Delaware within three years.
