The Delaware School Climate Survey was developed by the Delaware Positive
Behavior Support Initiative (a partnership between the Delaware Department of
Education and the Center for Disabilities Studies at the University of Delaware). There is no identifying information on the survey, so no one will know how you individually answered any of the questions. Information from completed surveys will be used by the University of Delaware to make a report for our school.
We are asking you to complete the survey to help us learn what parents and guardians think about our school. Your thoughts and opinions are very important. Through this survey, we will use your experiences and opinions to help us build on our strengths and work to make improvements.
The survey will only take about 15 minutes to complete and can be accessed by desktop, laptop, or mobile device. If you have more than one child in this school, please complete the survey with one child’s experiences in mind.

Lake Forest School District hosted their annual Security Summit Tuesday morning at the Central Business Office. The event was coordinated by Lake Forest Student Services Supervisor Mr. Dustin Weller who said, “We did this every year pre-pandemic so it was time to get back to meeting again”. Leaders from the Lake Forest Central Office and all schools attended the event. Members from the Delaware State Police, Harrington Police Department, and Felton, Bowers, and Houston Fire Departments also contributed to the discussion. Topics covered included current safety and security best practices, the Lake Forest Constable initiative, and gaining community and stakeholder involvement in the safety effort. Throughout the Summit, attendees agreed there is nothing more important than keeping students safe and all pledged their commitment to doing just that.
The Delaware Department of Education holds an annual ArcGIS competition for middle and high school students, where students develop websites with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) regarding locations specific to Delaware. Kaylee McDowell and Abigail Sweet represented our Lake Forest High School community this year and did an excellent job with their project. If you would like to view their work, or perhaps if you have a sweet tooth, you might want to check out their creation at the following website!
