The Lake Forest boys basketball team will be playing at home tomorrow at 7 pm vs. Laurel in the 1st round of the DIAA State Basketball tournament. The girls team will travel to Odessa High School on Wednesday, February 27th at 7 pm for their 1st round game. All tickets must be purchased online https://gofan.co/event/1427755, this is a DIAA event, Lake Forest High School is just the host for this event. No school passes, sportsmanship passes, employee passes will be accepted for admission to the game. All tickets must be purchased online.

The EdRising Chapter here at LFHS is proud to announce that at our State Conference held at the University of Delaware this week, two of our members, Michaelah Riggins and Pierina Algarra-Ramos were elected to serve at the 2024-25 Delaware EdRising State Representatives.
In addition, Caley Murphy, Sophia Kemp, and Kayden Shockley were medal recipients in each of their respective events. Congratulations to all!

Congratulations to Emma Fair, Julia Novack, and Gabriella Layne on a fantastic performance this past weekend! All three students were selected to perform with the Kent County Honor Band along with 90 other high school students from Kent County. After two days of rehearsal, the weekend finished with a beautiful concert under the direction of Dr. Mark McCoy from West Virginia University. Way to go Spartans!

Congratulations to Gabriella Layne on an awesome performance this past weekend with the Delaware All-State Jazz Ensemble. Gabby was 1 of 21 students who passed the audition process and gained acceptance into the group. After spending two days rehearsing in Wilmington, the students put on a spectacular concert with guest conductor Mike Tomaro. The concert featured many of his arrangements and Gabby was able to perform a solo on one of the selections! Way to go, Gabby!

National School Counseling Week, February 5-9, 2024, highlights the tremendous impact school counselors can have in helping students achieve school success and plan for a career. The Student Climate & Conservation Congress (Sc3) and its Fellowship Program, were established in 2008 by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service of the Department of the Interior and the Green Schools Alliance to recognize and honor distinguished high school students who are, or aspire to become, climate & conservation catalysts in their schools and communities. In 2010, the program was extended to recognize students who demonstrated innovation and impact beyond the school campus in their greater community. In 2016, the program was again extended to recognize students demonstrating a commitment to sustainable solutions through impact in any of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
