This week we show our Chipman Pride with spirit week Monday we will be lighting it up with neon day, Tuesday will be seeing double with twin day, Wednesday will be seeing stars as students dress like their favorite famous person, and Thursday students will be wearing their class color. Students do not have school on Friday, October 8th as the district has a scheduled professional in-service for staff. This week we officially kick off our PBS Magnificent Seven Awards, our Spartan Bucks program, and our “Chipman Live” morning announcements show. Students will also be able to enjoy movies on the big screen during lunch, and students will also be able to eat in the outdoor center. PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE: The word of the week is THANK YOU. This is the final word of the week and phone message home as the Principal of W.T. Chipman Middle School. Thank you for all the support, thank you for commitment to supporting our school, and thank you to all the staff that are committed to making WT Chipman Middle School the best Middle School in the state of Delaware. I have attached a letter outling the transition to a new administrative team beginning on September 20th. Welcome to the 2021-2022 school year. We are excited to get this year started and see all of our students. We are returning on Monday, August 30th to full time, face to face learning. Every student and staff member are required to wear a mask while inside the building. The word of the week is TOGETHER. It can be defined as with or in close proximity to another person or group of people. We must all work together to make this a successful school year for our students, families, and staff. Home Access Center(HAC) will be available on Monday, August 23rd. HAC is where you will find your child's schedule. You will also have access to attendance information and current grades. Transition Day is scheduled for Friday, August 27th. This event is for our 6th grade students ONLY. The day begins at 7:15am and dismissal will be at 10:20am. Bus drivers will contact families to inform them of the pick-up and drop-off times aas well as location. Parent drop-offs should arrive at 7:15am. Students will be allowed in the building at 7:20am. Breakfast will be available. Our MEET and GREET event is for out 7th and 8th grade students. This is an informal time for our students to find their classrooms and familiarize themselves with the building. Students can say hello to teachers as they put the finishing touches on their classrooms. This event is open from 12:30pm to 2:30pm. Bus drivers will be making contact this week with our families to confirm pick-up and drop-off times as well as location of the bus stop. These calls will all be completed by the end of the week. Attached you will find a flyer for FOOTBALL EQUIPMENT fitting as well as a meeting. This will take place on Friday, August 27th. Please read the attached document for more details. Also attached is a flyer for a fundraiser for our FCCLA club. Please take advantage of this great offer as a way to help our students raise money for their organization.
