Hello Chipman Families!
I hope you and your family had a restful summer vacation and are gearing up for another productive school year at Lake Forest! I am so excited to welcome you and your student to WT Chipman Middle School for the upcoming school year!
We have been busy at Chipman over the summer break. We have been working on many exciting projects for the upcoming school year, and we had the opportunity to welcome some of you into our building for a few events. In July we hosted the Sixth Grade Walkthrough, where we welcomed hundreds of incoming students and their family members to explore the building and go on a fun scavenger hunt. In August, we opened the WTC Gym for Physical Turn-in Night, where many student athletes and their families ventured out to turn in their physicals and WTC Athletics Code of Conduct agreements.
At WT Chipman, our school day begins promptly at 7:35 and ends at 2:30. Families dropping their students off for school in the morning should enter the front circle and follow the directives from staff directing traffic. Students can also be picked up in the front circle at the end of the school day. The back parking lot is for buses and should not be used for parent pick up or drop off. If your student will be riding the bus, you will hear from the driver about pick up and drop off times prior to the start of the school year.

Monday, September 4 Schools Closed for Labor Day
Tuesday, September 5 First official day of school for all students 7:35-2:30
At Chipman, our staff strives to form strong connections between school and home. This year, our entire district will be moving to Remind. Therefore, our former platform, ClassDojo, will no longer be utilized. Teachers will only utilize Remind to connect with you throughout the school year. You will also hear from WTC Admin every Sunday. You will receive a weekly call, text, and email with the WTC Weekly, which details what to expect for the upcoming week, important dates, sports matches, and club meetings. All pertinent information will also be housed on Chipman’s website, which can be accessed through the District’s main page. You may have also noticed that Chipman started a new Facebook page over the summer, and we will continue to actively update this page throughout the school year, as well.
