Here is our wrap up from the Odyssey of the Mind State Finals yesterday.  Lake Forest will have 3 teams representing Delaware at Iowa State University in May for the World Finals competition.  Congratulations to:

Tricia Massey's high school vehicle team of Kadija Bundu, Morgan Durand, Aidan Garey, Nolan Ledford, Emma Massey, Roxanne Troutman and Mallory Wood who wowed their judges with their ingenuity and creativity when it came to their self-propelled vehicles engineered to perform various tasks.  They took 1st place and top scores in all 3 of categories against their competitor.

Abby Hansen and Barb Salerno's Chipman team of  Kenadi Cole, Alex Gonet, Alexis Hansen, Abbagail Henson, Christopher Salerno and Katie Tanner who are your Middle School Performance State Champions with the highest scoring solution.

Melony Boyer's  Chipman team of Hannah Boyer, Christina Lewis, Elizabeth Rangel, Chloe Robbins, Alexa Truitt, Delaney Westhoff,  and Paige Zoll who took 2nd place in "Life is a Circus" Performance problem.  They had top scores in their division for their spontaneous problem solving.

We rounded out the competition day with two 4th place and a 7th place elementary team.  Jenn Moyer's 3rd-5th graders missed advancing to Worlds out of their field of 17 by just 5 points.

I want to give a big, forgotten shout out to Rachel Argo who has helped out all season where ever Lake's students or I needed her to and helped the state organization run Saturday's tournament since we were down 6 of our main tournament workers/board members!!!  And thank you to LFHS senior, Josephine Ledford for volunteering at the tournament, too.

Now comes some of the hardest work of all, raising the estimated $30,000 in funds to get these 3 teams to Iowa!  I hope you don't get tired of seeing emails from us about our fundraising opportunities.  😉
