In an effort to afford more Lake Forest seniors the opportunity to obtain college credits – which are also recognized and accepted by Delaware State University and the University of Delaware – the following dual enrollment courses will be offered at Lake Forest High School:
DTCC ENG 101: Academic Reading Across the Disciplines– Fall
DTCC ENG 102 (Composition & Research) – Spring
DTCC PSY 121 (General Psychology) – Fall
DTCC SOC 111 (Sociology) – Spring
DTCC MAT 281 (Calculus I) – Yearly
Course offering is based on a minimum of ten (10) students enrolling for the course to be offered at Lake Forest High School. Instruction will be provided by a DTCC instructor.
Students receive course credit from DTCC and a related course credit designated by Lake Forest High School. For credit at the High School, students must receive a grade of 70% or better; for DTCC, students must receive a grade of 75% or better.
Most courses are awarded three credit hours. Calculus I is worth 4 credits.
Certain prerequisites apply for entry into each course. Students typically need a 475 EBRW score on the SAT. They can also take the ACCUPLACER. Refer to the DTCC packet available from your Guidance Counselor.
