OM

Congratulations to our FOUR World Finalist Odyssey of the Mind Teams!!!  It was a great day of competition and many thanks to Lake Forest High School for hosting the state tournament this year.  It couldn't have been done without the help of the high school's Custodial Crew who worked tirelessly all day on Saturday!!!  Many thanks to the district CNS staff who fed the masses and the teachers at LFHS whose rooms were borrowed for the day.

Here's the complete breakdown of results...
Team Gonet/Cole - Our littlest OMers put on a fantastic dinosaur parade complete with instruments, song, adorable costumes, props and scenery.  I just know they're gonna be ready to contend next year in Division I.

Team Bumgarner had 5 new OMers and a new coach.  In Division One Vehicle, their Pirate Flamingos made it around the course with just a couple small misses.  They placed 10th but had the 7th highest long term score of the 17 teams!

Team Taylor also had 5 of their 7 team members new to OM along with a new coach.  In Division One Structure, they placed 8th out of 11 teams, but held the 4th highest amount of weight!  Their "Pull a Rabbit out of My Hat" skit entertained the judges and spectators alike.

Team Moyer in Division One Performance had the most competition.  They placed 6th out of 17 teams!!  It was World Cup soccer action for this team who overcame more than one prop mishap with calmness, poise and grace.

Joe Boyer switched from being a long-time parent and judge to coach for the first time.  His 6th grade girls (do you feel his pain?) finished just .2 points from clinching a World Finals place (do you feel their pain?).  They finished in 4th place out of 9 teams in Division Two Performance, but they had the 3rd highest long term score!

World Finalists, Team Hansen/Salerno had middle schoolers from every grade level, but they gelled together and pulled off a 3rd place finish in Division Two Performance.  These coaches and their kids had the state champion team last year before their older team members moved up to Division Three and are looking forward to the return trip to WF.

World Finalists, Team Cimo/Sokalski added 3 new team members to their core team and are headed back to WF for a second time.  They are the State Champion Division Two Structure Team!  Even though their structure didn't hold as much as they'd hoped, their "woodsy" skit scored exceptionally high in Style!

World Finalists, Team Massey/Durand put together another State Champion Division III Vehicle solution with a Pirate theme based on Greek Mythology.  This is team member, Nolan Ledford's 5th World Finals and Aidan Garey and Kadija Bundu's 4th.  And, this team still has their senior year in front of them!

Rounding out the World Finalists teams is Team Melony Boyer.  Her five 8th graders and freshmen came together from 2 World Finalist teams last year and are headed back as the State Champions in Performance Division III.  Their fairy tale theme, complete with a growing giant was a hit.
